To hell with it.
I'm just doing one of those official "Ill do or knit whatever the hell I want" post. I'm a teenager, I have no money, and I knit. Big deal that I use that big bad monster acrylic to make things.
So to the thirtyish year old woman (slowling hacking away at a crap $200 garter stitch novelty scarf) who turned her nose up at me for knitting away at my hoodie in Carons simply soft. Who scoffed at me as if I, even after three years of knitting, knew NOTHING. I can do cables, I can do lace, I can do frickin insaria and even steeking. you...can do a novelty scarf. Congrats to you, now go die.

You know what I think of the snobby knitters with their precious yarn? Kiss my knit! And I am a 30-something, but I have a little money and I'd rather knit a small project that something extremely complicated, so what? I always receive pity looks when I enter a store... But, one cannot always spend milliond on yarn, or start super difficult projects?! Anyway , Hi, thanks for stepping by my blog, if you want to do a poncho, do it! It's a long job but it's really rewarding ...Well it is my very firts big projet and I feel like I'm making something huge... ;-)

those people are just insecure. I always spend way too much but that's just a neurosis. Snobs suck!
BTW, there is a pattern in S 'n' B that is a Hoodie but has no zipper...
I agree. I see nothing wrong with making sweaters out of acrylic. My whole motto is, "if I completely screw it up, I won't have wasted $100"
You knit your synthetics with pride. Who wants to spend a zillion $ on something that won't be in style by the time you finish it anyway!
Good attitude! Don't let anyone else tell you how or what to knit (unless they're actually giving you good advice, in which case you can take it or leave it as you see fit.)
